Film ProgramsShort Film Programs These programs are the meat and potatoes of the festival, where the best short films selected from hundreds of entries from around the world are viewed and then voted for by the attending audience to determine The Best of the Fest.Each program’s title indicates the type of short films included in that program. Classic Movie Presentation As a unique part of the film festival, classic feature length films will be aired on Del Mar TV, cable channel 3.Each day (when the short film festival is not taking place), films with a special actor or group will be feature like Douglas Fairbanks Night (October 6) or Comedian’s Classics Night (October 9). For a complete schedule click here. Locals Only Program The PCFF started as the Del Mar Film Festival and it featured films by local artists often on local themes. As our festival has grown, so has the competition and the universality of the themes.This event is meant to harken back to the good ole’ local festival days, where only films by local artists or on local subjects will be shown. LiveFest Program This is the most unique program of our festival. To know what it’s all about, you’ll just have to be there. Deviants Program One of our most popular film programs featuring films with adult themes. No one will be permitted under the age of 18 without a parent. Everyone attending under 25 years of age must bring ID. Forums Filmmaker Forum – Informal forums will be planned after each program to allow filmmakers to discuss their films and answer any questions the attending audience may have about them. Blues Night in Del Mar This is the festival’s largest celebration.It will feature the very entertaining Billy Watson and the Silver String Submarine Band. This event is a fund raiser for the very independent Del Mar Public Access television station. Reception/After Parties Various planned and informal receptions and after parties are planned for the festival and will be announced at the end of the festival programs.Awards Ceremony During the celebration after our last short film program on October 14, the winner of Best Short Film will be announced. Concert in Powerhouse Park a long standing popular tradition in Del Mar of listening to live music on a park overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. |
