Vacation Getaways is a new concept to reach the modern American traveler. The vast majority of trips in the U.S. today are three days or less in length. Vacation Getaways introduces three destinations in each episode in a 4 to 5 minute long segment on each locale. By strategic selection of the featured destinations in relation to the viewing audience, there will always be one or more destinations that are a drive or short flight distance away.   In addition to the destination segments there will be short minute long segments featuring such pertinent travel topics as; taking better pictures, how to pack, how to save money, safety, and much more.   At the end of each destination section, the show will promote that featured destination’s information telephone hot line as well as the Vacation Getaways’ web site that will include information on the destinations in the series and links to the destination’s web site.   The series will start airing Spring of 2006 through the same outlets as the "Weekend Explorer - Local Edition" series that already airs in Southern California and is spreading throughout California and the West.
